Tuesday 6th Dec training

Squeak was fab :)

rounds this week. SC first - 2 rounds -

4 straight jumps on right arm to a left turn to tunnel - first time I pulled him off the 4th by turning too fast, started again and got it perfectly. So tunnel, rear cross, jump to right angle tunnel. All clear. Coming out of the 2nd tunnel was interesting. the exit was staright towards the handler, but the jump was slightly to the left - so almost a flick. Dog had to turn to get jump 1 which then set it wide for jump 2, then a tight right angle to right which was a bounce. Pip missed this first time - took jump 1 and then was too wide for jump 2/3. 2nd time I slowed and caled him more and he nailed it. then across to a paralell jump and call off the next jump to the first tunnel, rear cross, jump then call off tunnel 2, turn right and take the final 2 jumps.

So interesting course and Pip only made baby mistakes which was fine. Learned a lot too :) I think we did it in 19secs - which is amazing as Star did 22 secs, but I guess Pip has a bigger stride.

Agility end was a little more exciting and babyish. It was a tricky start 2 jumps to DW and he missed the DW entry a couple of times. then got it but jumped off. jump jump tunnel with a rear cross on the tunnel was good, but I got a bit to far ahead and he missed the seesaw entry. Did it ok after that. the jump, 180 turn with front cross to cloth tunnel was fine, jump jump jump on ahead was fine pull through to DW was ok, and got the DW entry but then jumped off again. Got it and finished on 2 jumps. He did get very excited and just wanted to run - my chicken and sausage for contact rewards just didnt cut it for him.
