muddy again :(

Hate this damp soggy muddy stuff :( Liked the sunny frozen stuff better - bring it back please.

On a good note I had a great training session with Mr Pip at club last night. It was his last night in the beginners class - up to the G1-2 class next week.

We basically worked on power and speed - so lots of contacts work and get straight approaches, spreads and long jumps. VERY pleased with the A frame contacts which have been the hardest for him. Seesaw good as usual, Dog walk which is usually good was ok 1st time - drove down to target but didnt backshift enough and slid off whilst targetting - so rewarded the intention which was a mistake as he then took liberties and barrelled off to the nice inviting trap of a tunnel. So worked on that a bit and did some call offs to a spread and got some nice stuff again.

Then worked a course and BOY does he fly! Had several comments on how grown up he looks and how fast! Had to practice our lead out pivots to actually get to one sequence. Good thing about power and speed is that you can stop in the power section to get lined up and to where you need to be!
Weaves were ok - but were set up in 4's and the other girl in my pair had a dog which isnt weaving yet so she had them spread apart - so NO challenge for Mr P and he just ran the channel and looked at me "like WHAT mum?" lol SO when we finished popped him through 3 x 4's closed up and he just flew. Think we can say the weaves are cracked now!
Did some nice work on getting him to drive into my side esp after the tunnel where he had to do a 180 to me and play - so that is definitely coming.

On the distraction side he was still a bit wound up by some dogs running (or rather their owners squealing) but as long as I keep him occupied he can stay quiet. Problem with that is then he doesn't relax and rest! Still it is improving and once the lead comes off and he knows he is going to work a whole pack of collies and squealing owners can run past and he wont see them.

We did some lovely waits - at one point I did a lead out and another Apryl was running between him and me and the tunnel and he just stood there fixed and focussed and then started straight past them. Good boy.

He is just so much fun - and HE has so much fun too. LOVE LOVE LOVE it :)
