AJAX Sept 2012

Went both days and decided to do training runs and work on the wait. After discussion with Karen and trying a few things we decided that the criteria are wait and you get to start and do agility, don't wait and you get taken back and try again. So Sat trained with that in mind in SC, jumping and games. Plan was that if all went well we would run the agility at the end of the day for real assuming he didnt break. If he did I'd put him back and take the E. So trained the gamblers. He broke a few times, then got and didnt so let him go on and do Aframe and tunnel. then 1 more wait and out. SC was next trained on 1st fence - broke a couple of times then held it so let him do a couple of fences. then did a wait in the middle and he held it so did tunnels and finished the last two jumps. Jumping - start was jump tunnel so decided to play about in the middle of the course. He held the wait so released to tunnel and jump. repeated and again good. Finally Agility. Held his wait. did an awesome clear round until muppet mother appeared right before the final fence slowing down and thus he pulled off the fence. Clever puppy stupid mother. Sun started with snooker - broke more than he held but finally got a good one. SC asked Mike and Phillippa to film me run it for real and see what I'm doing - so ofcourse he held his wait perfectly! got one pole down though. then jumping - again trained it - broke once then held every one so released to do some of the course. Agility - hard beginners and challenging. And we held the wait and had so much fun on that course! Sadly I released him too soon on the DW (I couldnt see as got left behind due to a confusion at the start of it and he wasnt in end position so picked up his only contact fault of the year. Then flew the rest of the course just getting another 5 on a hard weave entry which was a call off the DW. Only 3 CR out os 96 dogs so the boy did good IMHO and we had SUCH a blast it felt really good. Training this week his waits were amazing. Only broke once and got put back, others fab. So this weekend is Kingsfold, then have last Kc of the year at Southdowns. I plan to follow current rules. Hold the wait and start dont hold it and get put back. If we get E'd we get E'd. But I think he'll hold them :)
